Brad Barlow is passionate about proper nutrition and human wellness. With childhood obesity on the rise Brad knows through personal experience that eating right and exercising can make a significant difference in one’s health, wellness, and appearance. Nearly ten years ago, Brad lost fifty pounds by means of adjusting his diet to fewer calories, grams of fat, and saturated fat as well as complying with a physical activity schedule. Soon after seeing results of weight loss and improved quality of life, decided to pursue a health career for his life’s work. "The largest contributing factor for choosing the field of Dietetics was the opportunity within the field to help others improve their quality of life." Presently, Brad has kept the weight off. In addition to completing a bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Food Systems from the University of Southern Mississippi and becoming a Registered Dietitian, Brad has recently received his master’s degree in Nutrition with an emphasis in child nutrition program management. "My career goals can be tied to my passionate philosophy of improving the quality of life for as many individuals as possible, such as Bay-Waveland School District students and staff. I am extremely passionate about the Mind, Body and Spirit Foundation. This organization allows us to focus on two serious problems facing Mississippi; Obesity and the upcoming teacher shortage." |
